About

Mission Statement:

The Women of Color Book Club was created to read, share and pass on the knowledge that we gain from our Black American Authors.  Women of Color Book Club is a family brought together not only to socialize about the content that we read but to share how each experience applies to our everyday life.  Women of class, Women of Color, creating a path to show others that reading is not just fundamental but it also brings unity!

About Us

The Women of Color Book Club members all have a passion for reading.  Our members consist of mothers and daughters, granddaughters, sisters, sister-in laws, old friends and now new friends.

Our discussions have deepened friendships and broadened perspectives.  It is always great to hear what members have to say and what rating they give each book.   If we read a book that turn into a movie we will discuss the book and then attend the movie as a group.  Also we may gather to socialize, or and go out to dinner afterward.

We love to read thought provoking books with an open mind, lots of laughter and good food.  We prefer to meet in a member’s home rather than in a restaurant because we can feel free to do and discuss loudly.  We meet on the last Sunday of each month and members take turns hosting.  The hostess will prepare a meal of her choice and lead the book discussion.

At least once a year we will have a Book Fest with the author of the book we are reading and invite other book clubs in the area as well as anyone else who loves to read.
